2010 Race day another success |
| Posted by Ben Haynes (ben) on Apr 15 2010 |
We continued our tradition of having an annual race day at the Morphetville race course on the 20th of February 2010.
We were lucky enough this year to book the upper level of the tapestry pavillion, which provided air conditioning and a bit more room to move.
With approximately 170 people attending, we were able to raise $23,400 for the foundation, which will go towards the many programs we are currently supporting like the AYA cancer program and Canteen revolving recreation days.
A new highlight was a presentation by Mark Haseloff, who is a young cancer survivor and has taken part in the AYA program. He shared his story and really reiterated why we started this foundation in the first place, expressing the hardships he went through and some of the trials he had to face. A big thank you to Mark for sharing this with us!
Once again Cosie MC'd the day and as usual did a fantastic job hosting.
Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope to see everyone back next year.
